MEET THE BOARD
Asia Waddy
President
Asia Waddy is in her third year at CSUSM and pursuing a degree in business management. As her third semester on the board of the Management Society, she’s excited to take on the new role of president, build new relationships, and impact the members of the society.
In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, building her businesses, going to coffee shops, and watching sunsets.
Jess Pahua
Vice President
Jess Pahua is a graduating senior this spring 2024, she is majoring in business management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and minoring in communications. She is so excited to join the management board as a vice president, she’s hoping to bring new members and have a larger outreach to the COBA community.
In her free time, she likes to travel to different national parks, and recommends Joshua tree for any stargazing. Nothing beats sitting on a rock and staring up at the beautiful stars, Joshua tree has to offer. She travels with her dogs, an Australian Shepherd, and an American pitbull.
Breanna Joy Miller
Marketing Director
Breanna Joy Miller is set to graduate this May with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. Currently in her second semester on the board, Breanna is looking forward to creating lasting memories and connections.
Outside of her studies, Breanna enjoys playing Animal Crossing, going Squishmallow hunting, roller skating and spending time with her cats. She hopes to open her own cat cafe one day to help cats find their forever home.

Isabella Merrick is a Business Management major who is set to graduate in spring 2025. This is her second semester as the secretary to the Management Society; additionally, she’s the student assistant to the dean of the College of Business. Her goals for the semester include implementing new ideas for the society and connecting with other CoBA organizations.
This is Ryanne Balmediano’s third semester as treasurer and will be graduating this May. Ryanne is majoring in business management with a focus in entrepreneurship.
Outside of school Ryanne enjoys being outside, eating new foods and going thrifting along with her friends and family. She is thrilled to make more memories and connections with the management society before she heads off.
Cameron Deubig is a senior, studying organizational management. This is his third semester at CSUSM and second with the management society.
Cameron, in his free time, enjoys watching sports, playing chess, and hanging out with his girlfriend. His goals include making many connections and pursuing an internship for this summer. Cameron is very excited about the opportunities to come!
Beatriz Galicia
Ambassador
Beatriz Galicia (Gaby) is senior at CSUSM, where she is pursuing a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Management and Organizations and is graduating fall 2024. She is excited to continue her ambassador role. Her goal is to connect other students to resources the Management Society and CoBA provide. Another goal she has this semester is to continue working on her career advancement in the arts and crafts industry.
Beatriz spends her free time learning and working on various arts and crafts projects. However, she spends the majority of her time sewing. She enjoys making clothing and bags from scratch. In addition to altering and repairing thrift clothes to benefit the environment as well as making an effort to make others and herself feel confident in what they wear.
Malina Courchaine

Malina Courchaine is a junior at CSUSM, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Management and Organization and is graduating in Spring 2025. As a new board member in the team, Malina looks forward to creating memories and long-term connections with other board members, members, and speakers.
Outside of school, Malina enjoys going on nature walks, working out, trying new cooking recipes, making matcha at home, thrifting, going to boba cafes, and collecting plushies (specifically Squishmallows and Sanrio).
Jose Leon
Ambassador
Jose Leon (Leon) is a senior at CSUSM his graduation date is May 2024 he is a business management major with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. This semester, as a new member of the Management Society board, Leon hopes to make meaningful contributions to the management society.
Outside of school, Leon spends time with his family and pursues different entrepreneurial projects. One of them is pitching an app startup for a parking solution.

Dr. Kimberly McCarthy
Faculty Advisor
Kimberly McCarthy is an Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business Administration at California State University, San Marcos. Her areas of research interest include workplace communication, incivility, and high performance teams. Prior to joining CSUSM, Dr. McCarthy received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine as well as an MBA from Creighton University.
In her spare time, Professor McCarthy enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her husband and kids. She loves the beach, camping, and couldn't live without the Southern California sunshine!
